The SAN will have a new executive director in 2019
The Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN) will have a new executive director in 2019, with the departure of Andre de Freitas at the end of the year, after six years of fruitful work at the head of this international network of organizations dedicated to promoting the sustainable agriculture around the world.
De Freitas has decided to accept a new challenge and in January 2019 will join the Renova Foundation, to be their Director of Socioeconomic and Environmental Programs. The SAN, under the leadership of the SAN Board’s Executive Committee, has already started the search process for a new executive director, whose appointment will be announced in the first months of 2019.
Under de Freitas’ guidance, the SAN experienced a period of great transformation and growth, in which the organization evolved to become more effective in delivering on its vision of a world where agriculture is sustainable. During the last six years, the SAN has managed to grow, expand its membership and scope, its portfolio of solutions and position itself as a leading voice on agriculture sustainability.
"SAN is in a very exciting place and Andre has done a great job of making SAN an even stronger organization, creating new lines of work and opportunities for it to better deliver on its mission. We are thankful for his contribution and wish him all the best in his new endeavors," said Laura de Santis Prada, SAN’s President.
In view of this upcoming change, the SAN wants to reassure all its partners, donors and companies with whom it works, that all negotiations, processes and projects that are underway will not be affected in any way, since the objectives and the team of work remain unchanged. This new chapter is an opportunity to continue improving SAN’s work with all of you and continue to strengthen our collaboration.
