Silvia is the leader of our Capacity Development area, coordinating different projects with our members to tackle specific sustainability issues. She joined SAN in 2012, heading the auditor competence program for more than two years and then leading the Learning and Support team, in charge of developing the capacities of our technical community in all regions.
She is a a professional in the fields of sustainable development and project evaluation, and has undertaken responsibilities in non-governmental organizations (NGOs), international cooperation, universities and the private sector. Among others, her areas of expertise are sustainable and organic agriculture, tourism, natural resources, sustainable development and local capacity building in rural environments.
Silvia earned a degree in Biology from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (Argentina) and a Master’s Degree in Program Development and Project Evaluation from the Universidad de Costa Rica. She is based in Costa Rica.
