María Angélica Bonilla
Angélica has been working for SAN since 2015 after several years of experience in sustainable agriculture.
After obtaining her Engineering degree in Agronomic Sciences with an emphasis on Rational Natural Resources Management from EARTH University (Costa Rica), Angélica worked on implementing and managing processing plants to obtain HACCP certification as a Quality and Production manager. At the same time, she was founding and running a company called Hydroo that specializes in sustainable living foods in Costa Rica.
While at SAN, she supported the Standards and Policy area in the development of the 2017 SAN Standard and related certification documents. Currently she is part of the technical unit and the project leader of the SAN Risk Platform. She also supports SAN initiatives, projects and activities mainly related to agriculture management and production systems, risks, IPM and pesticide management. Angélica is based in Costa Rica working in the SAN Headquarters.
