AMEBOSCO arises from the need to promote a diverse and profitable agroforestry model in Mexico, articulating and organizing the productive chain to spread agroecological knowledge, rescuing traditional wisdom, highlighting the biocultural connections of the indigenous producer populations with their environment, and restoring tropical forest ecosystems.
Mission Statement
Their mission is to promote a diversified and resilient agriculture model called edible forest, based on three essential pillars: cultivation of agroforestry products of commercial value, cultivation of local products for family consumption, and conservation of native timber species that allow the protection of local biodiversity.
Work Scope
The association’s two main programs focus on resilient agriculture and ecosystems restoration. Their resilient agriculture program seeks to promote changes in the production models of rural families, with agroecology, agroforestry and the protection of natural resources as its ethos.
The ecosystems restoration program seeks to recover the Mexican tropical forests, making a transition from depleted agricultural models to edible forests, which allow families to have profitable crops while restoring the ecological balance.
