At the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN), we believe that collective intelligence is one of our greatest strengths. That’s why we’re thrilled to share the latest progress on our Knowledge Management System (KMS)—a shared platform designed to help all SAN member organizations learn, interact, and collaborate more effectively.

Co-Creating the System: What’s New Since January

A Committee Powered by Collaboration

We’re proud to announce the formation of the KMS Committee, a vibrant group of members driving this initiative forward. Special thanks go to CORAF, Cotton Connect, and Preferred by Nature for stepping up and volunteering their time and expertise. With representation spanning regions and functions, this committee has already met twice to align key priorities and strategic decisions.

Thoughtful Design in Motion

The design phase of the KMS is officially underway. Guided by the needs of users across our network, we’re crafting a system that prioritizes:

  • Ease of navigation

  • Relevant and timely content

  • Powerful search functionality

We aim to make it intuitive for everyone to find what they need—and discover new insights along the way.

Taxonomy and Content Mapping in Progress

To keep knowledge organized and accessible, we’re building a shared taxonomy—a system for tagging and categorizing content consistently across topics. This will make it easier than ever to locate resources, no matter your area of interest or expertise.

What’s Next: Key Milestones on the Horizon

  • June 20 – We’ll unveil a prototype of the KMS during the General Assembly in Indonesia, where all attending members will be invited to explore the system and provide feedback.

  • July – Your input will be incorporated as we finalize the design and begin uploading content.

  • August to October – A pilot testing phase will be launched with the KMS Committee, the Secretariat, and any members who wish to participate.

  • November – We’ll refine the system based on learnings from the pilot.

  • December – The full launch of the KMS for all SAN members!

How You Can Still Get Involved

This is your system—designed for and with the SAN network. There are several ways you can contribute:

  • Do you have content, case studies, or tools that others could benefit from?

  • Would you like to be among the first to test key features during the pilot?

  • Do you have ideas to improve usability or functionality?

If so, we’d love to hear from you. Just reach out to Ana or Eliane to share your thoughts or express interest in joining the pilot.

Growing Together

The SAN Knowledge Management System is more than a tool—it’s a step forward in how we connect, share, and grow as a global network. Thank you for being part of this journey.

Let’s build this together.
