About the project
Nestle’s Responsible Sourcing Program for Vegetables and Spices tackles the sector’s biggest risks—emissions, biodiversity loss, water use, and human rights—by pairing rigorous traceability with supplier enablement. The program (aimed at 20% regenerative sourcing by 2025 and 50% by 2030) works on three fronts: tracing key ingredients back to origin, ensuring ethical standards are met at the source, and partnering with selected suppliers to provide technical and financial support that accelerates regenerative practices and restores nature and biodiversity across farming areas.
Outcomes
The program is delivering scale and measurable outcomes: 34 Nestlé suppliers are active across 11 countries, advancing regenerative practices in 40 crops while optimizing their supply chains for RegenAg. In the field, more than 500 biodiversity interventions are underway, reaching 1,200 farmers annually and applying regenerative and biodiversity practices across over 16,000 hectares each year—turning traceability and ethical standards into concrete climate, nature, and livelihoods gains.
