A non-profit academic institution in Egypt, Heliopolis University conducts high-level interdisciplinary research, and participates in development and applied research projects, with emphasis on sustainable agriculture.
Mission Statement
Empower students to be the champions of sustainable development in different spheres of life. Heliopolis University provides a fertile ground for new ideas that lead to further research and study. There, education combines teaching, research, and practice with a uniquely humanistic core program to develop curious and creative minds.
Work Scope
Through its Faculty of Organic Agriculture, Heliopolis University focuses on research areas like agroecology, sustainable farming practices to enhance yield and soil health, biodiversity, climate change mitigation, food security, and
biotechnology.
The university is also home to specialized laboratories for soil, water and microbiology, as well as thematic centers that include the Rural Development Center, the Center of Organic Agriculture in Egypt, the Entrepreneurship Center for Social Impact, the Carbon Footprint Center, and the Ecosystem Research Center.
Moreover, the Office of Sponsored Programs secures external funding to support the implementation of development and applied research projects in the fields of sustainable agriculture, rural development, entrepreneurship, and water and energy, among others.
