Stewarding a diverse community like the SAN network means that so much is happening at any given moment. Our members work in more than 300 crops in over 120 countries, all 41 organizations working towards a common goal of transforming agriculture for planet and people. Every year we take the time to look back, bring together everyone’s results and analyze our collective impact, with clear minds and the eagerness to plan ahead for our next steps. Today we are proud to present our 2025 Collective Impact Report, a look at how radical collaboration looked like across 365 days past.

In it, readers will find an overview of our current membership, the countries and regions where our work is currently developed, an explanation of our model of work, and what we offer to our partners. Our leadership team highlight how our members advanced climate mitigation, adaptation, and agrobiodiversity throughout 2025, but also how much we have grown as a team, strongly identifying now as a global impact network  that operates with purpose, coherence, and trust.

Together we are a large organization: the equivalent of 6400 full-time employees across the network, and more than 536 million U.S. dollars mobilized in 2025. With 335 projects implemented during the year, we reached more than 15 million farmers through direct implementation, and a further 10 million through certification activities. Our footprint is on more than 80 million hectares, including farmland, forests and woodland.

People and places: our work in stories

The report goes beyond the numbers to highlight some case studies that reflect SAN’s reason for existing. From Pakistan, Rural Aid presents a climate resilience initiative that combined tree planting, water management, soil health and kitchen gardening, recognizing that resilience needs to go hand in hand with livelihoods and home food security.

From Colombia, Fundación Natura presents Huella Viva (Living Footprint), a transitional experience towards regenerative cattle ranching. In this experience, they proposed a thorough change in the production model, with a territorial approach in which land stops being only ‘pasture’ and becomes a wider production system. With almost 300 people trained, participants are seeing a twofold increase in milk production and four times as much forage available.

With experiences from Kenya and India, CABI showed how they have built deep community relations and produced behavioral change. Through localized communications and specialized tools, they have been able to steer new practices around pesticide use and integrated pest management.

Meanwhile, in Uganda, PELUM is developing the Rooted in Diversity Project, a 5-year initiative to strengthen food security in the Kalaki District. More than 600 smallholder farmers have already participated, learning useful skills like plant breeding and seed characterization.

Strong connections to foster radical collaboration

The role of the SAN Secretariat as convener and orchestrator of the network’s efforts also grew during 2025. Their leadership in creating Regional Hubs, convening a Regenerative Agriculture Action Lab, and creating spaces for knowledge exchange, both online and offline, are documented in the report.

The work of thousands of people cannot be summarized in a few lines, but as we hold this mirror to our year 2025, we feel the reward of seeing a project take form. Research projects, speaking engagements, papers and advocacy initiatives are also reflected in SAN’s Annual Impact Report, building a lasting impact from every single corner of the world. We invite you to come along with us for the ride; this is only the beginning.
