Mission Statement

ORGIIS is a Ghana-based organization that aims to leverage indigenous knowledge to overcome the challenges of underdevelopment, governance, poverty, climate change and environmental degradation.

Geographic Scope

The operational area of ORGIIS covers the SADA zone (savanna ecological area), principally the Upper East, Upper West and Northern Regions of Ghana.

Work Areas

  • Agricultural development, with a focus on agroecology, agri-business development, agri-finance, and all aspects of agricultural value chains.

  • Environment and natural resources management, with a focus on nature conservation and water resource management.

  • Inclusive banking, especially with women and youth groups.

  • Accountable governance, with a focus on transparency, accountability and responsiveness to state, civil and community mechanisms and systems.

  • Business development, with a focus on youth entrepreneurship, social inclusion, and social enterprise.

  • Health and nutrition, with a focus on primary health, sexual health, STIs and HIV/AIDS, as well as child nutrition, food safety and food sovereignty.

  • Renewable energy, with a focus on sustainable renewable energy innovative solutions.

  • ICT for economic development, with a focus on youth business enterprises, climate change solutions, and rural technology solutions.

ORGIIS strives to reduce poverty through the sustainable use of resources, creating sustainable communities driven by indigenous development.
