Irene Guzmán Ferreto
Coordinator, Communications and Marketing
Irene joins SAN with 10 years of experience in strategic communications in settings as diverse as academic institutions, political campaigns and international organizations. Such varied experiences have equipped her to transform dense policy content into actionable messages for different audiences through the creative use of writing, graphics, and video.
Lately, as part of a Communications for Development Team at the International Organization for Migration, she practiced her skills in marketing social products and bridging the gap between policymakers and community, while working in a culturally enriching regional environment.
Irene holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from the University of Costa Rica, and a Master’s Degree in Latin American Studies jointly awarded by the University of Salamanca, Stockholm University and Université Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3. This was possible as part of an Erasmus Joint Master Degree Scheme, which she pursued on a full scholarship awarded by the European Commission.
